Wednesday, November 09 2016: the last time I wrote on this blog, not knowing that I was reaching my bachelor's degree exactly in 20 days. Ah, and this reminds me of back when I wrote this post. I wrote a sentence "I don't know why but I optimistically will be graduating as a Bachelor of Communications in just under 5 months". Sorry if it sounds overconfident haha but I did that just to calm myself. There's something magical about that sentence: I graduated 4 months later after I wrote that! I wrote it in July. Then I graduated on November 29th. It's under 5 months! I don't know if it's a coincidence or meant to be my fate. My sister only told me that it's called "law of attraction". No no. Google it yourself. I'm not discussing it any further :p
I've been very excited about my graduation. Since my college is located in Jatinangor, so I don't need to go back and forth Jakarta-Jatinangor anymore *yeay*. I'm also excited for having done with my dissertation. It was a long, tiring, and emotional journey. Lucky me I could get through it with so much helps from the people around me.
Despite my excitement, I know and I can't be denial that I'm gonna miss all the moments I had during my 4-year university life.
"I've learned one thing, and that's to quit worrying about stupid things. You have four years to be irresponsible here, relax. Work is for people with jobs. You'll never remember class time, but you'll remember the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So stay out late. Go out with your friends on a Tuesday when you have a paper due on Wednesday. Spend money you don't have. Drink 'til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does..." - Tom PettyAgain, my sister ever reminded me to enjoy my uni life and not to be too serious. Being a student is great. We can do whatever we like. Whenever we make a mistake, we'll be tolerated just because we are students. It is true and I really enjoyed those days. College life is the last chance for us to be able to play around without having to feel penalized. I met some cool people who are now friends with me, thus I don't regret my college life!
I'm in the time when everyone around me says "Congratulations for finally getting your bachelor's degree!" or "Welcome to the jungle!". (Well, thank this everybody's favorite rock band called Guns N' Roses. If they had not written this song, this phrase would not exist).
Yesss it's true that I am now searching for my own path to get out of this jungle. I've been lost here since I graduated. Yeah, everybody experiences this stage of life though. This could be the reason why we should have enjoyed our college life. It's okay. Getting lost will teach us something in the end. But when we're already at the top, we should never forget and keep reminiscing our college life no matter how good or bad it was :) Yeup, I will always reminisce them. In order not to forget before I'm getting old, I'm going to write some posts about my college gang and also the small town but full of stories called Jatinangor.
Dear friends, let's explore the jungle!
Love,
Yunita Werdiningrum, S.I.Kom
